Passenger flows by plane increased in Tijuana and fell in Mexicali

Mexicali, Baja California.- The passenger flows through Tijuana Airport increased a 9.2 percent during the first quarter of the year respecting to the same period of time, but in 2012, this was announced by Pacific Airport Group (GAP, Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico)

From January to March of 2013 were transported near of 933 thousand people, while in average result add up 331 thousand, with an increase of 12.3 percent.

Meanwhile in Mexicali, during the first quarter of the year, the flow rate collapse in a 6.4 percent (a little bit more of 111 thousand of passengers) while in the last month was registered a decrease of 5.7 percent (almost 40 thousand of passengers).

The GAP manages 12 airports: Guadalajara, Tijuana, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, La Paz, Manzanillo, Hermosillo, Bajío, Morelia, Aguascalientes, Mexicali and Los Mochis. Together of mentioned cities, during the first quarter of the year was registered an increase of 5.5 percent.

All the 12 airports in total mobilized more of 5 millions 666 thousand of passengers, digit that is higher that 2012 when were transported more of 5 millions 372 thousand passengers.

During March, terminal passengers registered an increase of 9.1 percent comparing with the same period of time of last year, domestic passengers registered an increase of 9.9 percent while the international passengers registered an increase of 8.0 percent respectfully of March of 2012.

On the other hand, Southeast Airport Group (Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste) registered an increase of 8.53 percent during the quarter of the year.
