Tijuana, Baja California.- To inform its report on regional economies for the third quarter of the year, the Bank of Mexico reported that the activity in the North of of Mexico continued slowing.

The document indicates it more noticeable slowdown was in the North of Mexico: "this last was more notorious in the North, which is distinguished from the rest of the regions for its high degree of linkage with the global economic cycle, particularly with the United States and therefore is the most exposed region to the deterioration of the external economic environment.

Regional economic activity, in the third quarter of 2012 was expanded in Northern, North Central, Central and southern 0.8, 1.1, 1.6 and 0.7 percent. Thus, the results of this indicator suggest that in the quarter that discusses the greater dynamism was recorded in the central regions of the country. In contrast, in the North the components of the indicator for manufacturing activity, wholesale sales, sales to retail and formal employment exhibited a weaker growth.

In recent days the Center of Economic Studies of Tijuana (Centro de Estudios Ecobómicos de Tijuana)drew attention to the low growth recorded by Baja California in the last four years under the Government of Guadalupe Osuna Millan.
