Border Trade Alliance to Host Security and Logistics Conference in Mexico City

El Centro, California, August 1st.- The Border Trade Alliance, in conjunction with MexicoNOW, will be hosting a conference in Mexico City tomorrow.

The event, entitled, Trade & Security: The Impact on Logistics, will feature panel discussions and keynote speeches looking at the U.S.-Mexico border security environment and how it is affecting cross-border trade.

Confirmed presenters at the event include the U.S. ambassador to Mexico, Earl Wayne; the president of the National Council of Maquiladoras and Manufacturing Industry, Luis Aguirre; the president of the Mexican Automotive Association, Dr. Eduardo Solis; and the president of the Mexican Association of Industrial Parks, Jaime Roberts.

"The Border Trade Alliance is thrilled to be partnering with MexicoNOW, Mexico's leading international business magazine, in presenting what I am confident will be an outstanding event," BTA President Nelson Balido said. "We are fortunate to have an excellent slate of speakers lined up to discuss key issues affecting the U.S.-Mexico bilateral relationship so soon after the election of a new Mexican president.

I would encourage anyone who has a stake in the U.S-Mexico relationship to make plans to join us in Mexico City on August 2 to learn about how the new administration will approach its neighbor and largest trading partner, as well as a host of other hot topics such as economic development strategies in the border region; Mexico's auto industry; and organized crime in Mexico. The conference topics are important and timely."
